As a child we are dependent on our parents for basic needs and care, it as we grow up we begin to become less dependent on them and begin to spread our wings. This transition doesn’t happen overnight, and it takes time to make the transition.
There are factors that will force a person to be more independent such as a change of environment or circumstances, but there are some keystone habits that are required to make the transition:-
The key habits required to make the transition are:-
- Being Proactive
Taking control of your own life and thinking about what you need to do to take you in the right direction, accepting responsibility for your life and removing yourself from the blame game.
- Begin with the end
Think or visualise where you want to be in x amount of days, weeks or years. Establish a strong desire and direction and combine this with the first habit of proactivity and take action.
- Put first thing first
This habit means putting the most important things in your life first, it requires you to evaluate and priorities things and acting on the most important.
All of these habits add to what is termed as Private victories, these are your own victories that you celebrate internally and it requires zero amount of external validation.
