Benefits and importance of Travelling
With young age and just after university and or college your still finding your feet and your chosen career choice. The soft skills and experience you gain from travelling to different countries can provide lifelong benefits long after you’ve returned from the country, as well as help within the professional world.
Below are various benefits from travelling the world, and even neighbouring towns and cities. So definitely worth a read – and even better going to see some of the countries you’ve always thought to travel to:
Comfort zone push –
Most people have a fairly established comfort zone. Probably living with parents in an environment you’ve become accustomed to – and probably since birth. With established friends, activities, tastes etc. So the very idea of breaking from this norm can be daunting and uncomfortable. The beauty of travel is that you learn a lot in the uncomfortable and unfamiliar situation. Your brain and body have to adapt to different and difficult situations. Being in a new place, with different people, who have different values and go about life differently gets rid of all that familiarity away
With the advent of social media and remote working, the world is globalizing quickly. It is not unlikely that you would end up with a job that has you travel for business or take part in conference calls with international business partners. In our globalizing world, it is important to be culturally sensitive and it can’t hurt to know a foreign language.
In the business world, having lived abroad can give you a competitive edge. Use the confidence and cultural sensitivity that traveling helps you develop and help it make you successful.
Knowledge of the world
With travel, you’ll notice that certain things you’ve heard about the world end up being very different than what you were indoctrinated and conditioned to believe. Many of the initial myths that get dispelled are often about traveling itself. Where you once may have thought it was too expensive and dangerous, you may realize how you can actually save more on your lifestyle expenses traveling the world than you do living at home. You may also realize how kind and friendly strangers can be, and how they are even willing to take care of you with a place to sleep at night. Beyond that, you have the whole world to learn about with every place you discover, every person you meet and every culture you experience.
